What local control means for our sprinkler prototype

· Three Oak Woods

Our sprinkler project explores a straightforward idea: keep ordinary control and schedules on the controller, where the watering happens. The current nine-zone prototype has a local browser interface and stores its schedules on the device.

Local control has a specific meaning

Ordinary local control and schedules are designed to work without a Three Oak Woods cloud account. That does not mean the current prototype is independent of every network service. After a restart, schedules wait for valid time from internet time synchronization. A manual clock and an optional time-sync control are planned work, not current capabilities.

Keep the claims close to the evidence

Production hardware, installation, security and long-duration reliability still need validation. Recent software candidates and host tests do not establish that physical valves, rain inputs or power-loss recovery behave correctly on an installed controller.

We are not claiming automatic weather intelligence, a daily safety cutoff, water savings, weatherproofing or certification. Those are different questions with different evidence requirements.

A development project, not a sale

The controller is not available for sale, and this overview is not a promise of price, shipping date, warranty or support. The next useful milestones are scoped hardware and behavior checks with recorded conditions and limits. We will describe those results when they have been observed.
